Cabling

We can assemble Y/C 688 (U-matic dub)  or the equivalent Y/C 358 (S-Video) up to 10 metre lengths starting at £25 for 1 metre, then £1 extra per metre length excluding VAT.

The connectors used are genuine Hirose, 7 pin RM12BPE7S(71) and RM12BPE7PH(71) parts with separate 75 ohm mini RG59 PVC black coax cables used for luminance and chrominance signals, bound together by heat shrink tubing at regular intervals to create a flexible, low-loss reliable cable.

This U-Matic cable is designed to reduce the generational loss when specifically dubbing between two U-matic recorders, or two BR-S822 S-VHS JVC recorders (that use the same connector type). Note: When used with U-matic recorders, it is not capable of outputting to S-Video input directly due to the electrical differences in the way the chrominance is transmitted.

This cable can also be used with Sony BVU series time base correctors, which consequently output a corrected composite (note not component) signal for broadcasting or digitisation.
